Abstract

The copper status was investigated in longterm experiments - pot experiment and field experiments. Treatments with crops fertilized with copper were compared with treatments with crops not fertilized with copper in a pot experiment. NPK fertilized treatments were compared with treatments not fertilized with NPK for many years in field experiments. On some soils, copper fertilization resulted in large effects. The Baltic moraines were not affected very much. However, there was a tendency for a positive long-term Cu-effect in most soils. Lack of available copper was very severe in two soils. The straw yields were not influenced by copper shortage to the same extent as kernel yields. Results from the pot experiment were confirmed by analyses of wheat from the field experiments.
