Insects dominate Earth in terms of diversity, abundance, and biomass. Human-induced changes are affecting insect communities and their ecological functions. To understand the consequences, we must understand how the occurrence and abundance of insects is shifting in both space and time. For this, we need improved monitoring of insects around the world.
