Diatoms as biomonitoring tools in Sweden

Abstract

Here we present a recent revision and development of the Swedish system for monitoring streams using diatoms as bioindicators. IPS, with the supporting metrics %PT and TDI, and a new acidity index AJK will be used as national diatom metrics to assess the water quality of Swedish streams
