Immune cell infiltration of normal and impaired sow endometrium

Abstract

The paper reviews the physiological infiltration of immune cells, leukocytes, in the sow endometrium during different stages of the normal oestrous cycle, after mating and during early pregnancy. The mechanisms for development of endometritis in relation to oestrous cycle stages are also described. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved
