Abstract

This chapter deals with various issues related to the role of plant breeding to increase food production and productivity worldwide. It gives information about important changes in plant breeding methods and how they are assisting on developing genetically enhanced seed-embedded technology to cope with the changing climate. It also provides details on what plant types of major crops are needed under climate change to sustain food security globally.
