Inverkan av tung körning på mark vid två tidpunkter under vårperioden : en markfysikalisk studie av en lerjord i Revingehedsområdet
Messing, Ingmar
Abstract
The influence of heavy traffic on a clay loam in southern Sweden at two different points of time, mid April and mid May, was investigated. Texture, structure, frequency of worm holes, bulk density, pore volume, available water for plants and water permeability were determined for successive layers in soil profiles. Comparison was made between uncompacted and compacted soil. Differences were registered in the uppermost 50 cm. Compaction of the coarse pore system, >0.6 mm, leads to a marked reduction of water permeability which may give rise to water logging during wet periods. No significant differences were registered when comparing mid April damage with mid May damage.
