Abstract

Agroinfectious clones were constructed for a wheat and a barley isolate of Wheat dwarf virus (WDV). Infectivity was confirmed for both clones by polymerase chain reaction and Southern blotting of inoculated plant extracts. The barley strain was transmissible by the leafhopper Psammotettix alienus. This is the first report of an infectious clone of the barley-infecting strain of WDV
