Simulated N-leaching under site specific compared to uniform N application

Sammanfattning

The difference in nitrate leaching between site-specific and homogenous N fertilization was estimated with a C, N, water and heat model for a loamy sand and a clay soil. The economic optimum fertilization rate for winter wheat was 175-200 kg N ha-1 on both soils. At this rate the nitrate leaching increased almost linearly with fertilization rate. The leaching from a field where all sites got optimal fertilization rates was only slightly smaller compared to if all sites would have been fertilized at a uniform rate
